Marlys Fuego, 1988

She graduated in Painting / Drawing at the Academy of Visual Arts "Oswaldo Guayasamín Monteverde" (2003-2007) in Bayamo, Granma, Cuba. 

 

She began her studies at the University of the Arts (I.S.A.) in 2013 at the Faculty of Visual Arts. (Developed the first year of studies, 2013-2014) 

 

In 2009 she won the First Prize at the Sancti-Spíritus Miniatures Salon as well as other prizes at Cienfuegos and Granma. 

​

 

She is currently in Artistic Residence at El Barrio's Art Space PS109, in New York, with the sponsorship of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

Mi amado metió su mano por el agujero, y mis entrañas se conmovieron dentro de mí. Yo me levanté para abrir a mi amado, y mis manos gotearon mirra, y mis dedos mirra que corría sobre la manecilla del cerrojo.
